Grand Front Osaka Knowledge Capital Event Lab
Last year marked the 150th anniversary of the birth of world-renowned English author and illustrator Beatrix Potter, best known for her beloved Peter Rabbit series. Potter grew up in England’s Lake District, where she began sketching drawings of animals and plants as a child. Her earliest models were her talented pet rabbits, who joined her family on trips, learned to perform tricks, and followed Potter wherever she went. Her deep fondness for nature inspired her pursuits in natural science and environmental conservation, as well as a desire to write children’s books featuring animals. This exhibition features more than 200 works, including original picture book prints, sketches, and personal items once owned by Potter now belonging to the UK National Trust. Visitors will have the opportunity to examine the life of Beatrix Potter and the origins of the timeless world of Peter Rabbit.
