Kobe Artists Museum
In commemoration of the 150th anniversary of Kobe Port’s opening in 1868, a number of works portraying the beloved port and its surrounding area are on display. The opening of the port infused the city with a sense of exoticism that attracted many artists and photographers. This exhibition brings together a collection of their works that includes detailed oil paintings, woodblock and graphic prints, watercolors, Nihonga, and photography provided by the Kobe Municipal Archives Museum. Guests can see the different ways the port has been represented throughout time, as well as the transformation it has brought to the modern and cosmopolitan Kobe area. Don’t miss this opportunity to view a taste of history through these varied and time-honored creations.
