Some 1,000 maple trees show off their gorgeous autumn colors at Ishiyama-dera. Enjoy the magnificent view of the crimson and golden foliage from the main hall balcony and its colorful reflections in the adjacent pond. It takes about one hour to tour around the expansive temple grounds, so make sure to arrive well before closing time.
