Alongside Joey Baron on drums and bassist Thomas Morgan, Danish award-winning jazz guitarist Jakob Bro brings his trio again to Japan.
His latest album is last year’s Returnings and on this music, US magazine Downbeat said, “Danish guitarist Jakob Bro creates magical music, impossible to categorize.” It’s jazz, but it’s alternative jazz. There’s a sense that the band is constantly experimenting with sound and musical direction and keeping the listener on edge. The album also features jazz trumpeter Palle Mikkelborg and drummer Jon Christensen. On the trio, Bro has said himself that “The trio has been the constellation that has allowed me to focus on my solo voice. It’s an expression where I feel nothing is missing.”
