Louis Cole and Genevieve Artadi, music school graduates, began making electro-pop-funk-jazz music together in 2009 and released their first collaboration in 2010. That first album was released under their names as opposed to the band name of Knower. Most of their early exposure came via YouTube, and after building a following, they released the album Think Thoughts in 2011
Although the only permanent band members are Artadi and Cole, they have worked with an extensive list of musicians, especially for live shows.
In 2017, the band’s popularity grew in the US and Europe, and they opened for the Red Hot Chili Peppers in four major European cities. The duo continues to write music for high-profile artists and movie soundtracks as well as performing as Knower themselves.
