The State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia, open to the public since 1852, houses over three million works of art, including the largest collection of paintings in the world. It was founded in 1764 when Empress Catherine the Great purchased a substantial collection of paintings from a Berlin merchant, which included impressive works from artists such as Rembrandt, Rubens, and Jacob Jordaens. This exhibition is comprised of a selection of artworks from the Hermitage Museum’s collection and focuses on Old Masters from the Renaissance, followed by Baroque and Rococo pieces. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of excellent art by some of the greatest masters in the history of Western painting.
