Kobe Nankin-machi

Chinatown Kobe comes to life for the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Mooncake Festival. Join the festivities held at Nankin-machi, celebrating a time when the moon is at its fullest and brightest. Enjoy the atmosphere among the red and gold lanterns, have your fill of authentic Chinese cuisine, and be entertained by the plethora of cultural performances. Special culinary dishes unique to this event are served on the 13th for bargain prices. On the 14th and 15th, traditional music, martial arts, a lion dance, and a dragon dance will be performed. Nankin-machi’s very own mooncakes will be available for purchase throughout the four-day event.
