Gojozaka Street, Kyoto

Since 400 years ago, Gojozaka is an area known for housing countless potters and is the birthplace of Kiyomizu-yaki, earthenware that is created in Kyoto. Hundreds of roadside shops that feature ceramic, china, and earthenware at bargain prices will line up on Gojo street between Kawabata-dori and Higashoiji-dori. Works by veteran guilds to new up and coming artists will be available. Gojozaka is located within walking distance from Kyoto’s main sightseeing spots such as Kiyomizu Temple and the Gion District.
